Ave Maria Purissima

The traditional Spanish greeting on entering a home or the confessional: 'Ave María purísima' — and the reply, 'conceived without sin.' A whole people wove the mystery of the Immaculate Conception into its daily hello. Here it becomes a short prayer: Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you.
