How long does it take to pray the Rosary?
A full Rosary of five decades usually takes about fifteen to twenty minutes. A single decade — one Our Father, ten Hail Marys, and a Glory Be — takes around three minutes. Many people begin with one decade a day and let the prayer grow from there.
Which mysteries do I pray today?
The Church suggests a weekday rhythm: the Joyful Mysteries on Monday and Saturday, the Sorrowful on Tuesday and Friday, the Glorious on Wednesday and Sunday, and the Luminous on Thursday. Do I need a physical rosary to pray?

How do I pray the Rosary step by step?

Can I pray just one decade?

Where do the prayers of the Rosary come from?
Mostly from Scripture. The Our Father was taught by Jesus himself, and the first half of the Hail Mary joins the greeting of the angel Gabriel with the words of Elizabeth in the Gospel of Luke. The rest grew in the Church's tradition of prayer over many centuries.
Is the Rosary prayed to Mary?
The Rosary is prayed with Mary rather than to her in the way we pray to God. Every mystery looks at Christ; Mary is the mother who leads us to her Son. When we say 'pray for us', we are asking her intercession — much as you might ask a friend to pray for you.
Can I pray the Rosary if I am not Catholic?
Yes — everyone is welcome to pray it. At its heart the Rosary is a meditation on the life of Jesus as the Gospels tell it. Many non-Catholic Christians and seekers have found in it a school of quiet prayer. Come as you are.
What if I get distracted while praying?
Everyone gets distracted — even the saints did. A distraction noticed and gently set aside is not a failure; returning to the prayer is itself an act of love. Do not start over: simply continue where you are, and let the rhythm of the beads carry you back.
Do I have to pray the Rosary in Latin?
